Before my son, Elliot, turned 6 years old, I had him listen to all of MLK’s speeches.

I told him, “𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱.”
 
But this doesn’t just go for my son; this goes for all of us. 
 
 
I’ve spent an exorbitant amount of time researching how MLK was able to connect with his audience the way he did. 
 
 
𝗗𝗿. 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸; 𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆. 
 
An idea could pop into his head, and in a split second, he could take that idea and passionately inspire an audience to action with it.
 
This is why many consider him to be one of the best orators of the last century.
 
The more you listen, the more you realize just how incredible MLK’s speaking abilities were.
