“Matt, you should be ashamed of yourself. Your career path is strong, but your kid’s future is looking bleak.”
Those words hit like a punch to the gut.
Because they were true.
For the first 4 years of my oldest son’s life…
I neglected him.
Not intentionally. I wasn’t cruel.
I was just busy. Focused. Obsessed with growth, with metrics, with winning in business.
The sad part?
I don’t remember much of those early years.
Then everything changed.
One of my mentors called me out...hard.
He pointed out that I had a strategic plan for my company…
👉 Vision.
👉 Mission.
👉 Values.
But I had no plan for my kids.
None.
It was one of the most shameful realizations of my life.
How could I put more intention into revenue goals than raising the humans I love most?
So I made a shift.
I started crafting a life strategy for my kids.
And here’s the twist:
My business actually grew more after I made the shift.
When I showed up more for them, I started showing up better everywhere else, too.
More clarity. More peace. More purpose.
To every father who’s pouring into his children, I salute you.
Happy Father’s Day.
